Ekagra Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Ekagra is a digital wellbeing application designed to help users build healthier phone habits by understanding and limiting distracting app usage.
Your privacy is fundamental to Ekagra’s design. The app is built around a privacy-first approach, where most processing happens directly on your device and personal data is not collected or sold.
1. Information We Collect
Ekagra is designed to collect as little data as possible.
The app may process the following information locally on your device:
- App usage statistics
- Interaction data required for blocking or focus sessions
- Short-form video interaction counts (such as Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts)
This information is used only to provide the core features of the app, such as usage insights and distraction blocking.
Ekagra does not collect personal information such as name, email address, messages, or contacts.
Most data remains stored locally on your device.
2. Accessibility Service Usage
Ekagra uses Android’s Accessibility Service to enable certain core features of the application.
This allows Ekagra to:
- detect when selected apps are opened
- count usage of short-form content such as Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts
- block distracting app sections when users enable blocking features
Accessibility data is used only to provide these focus and awareness features.
Ekagra does not:
- read personal messages
- record keystrokes
- capture screen content
- collect passwords or sensitive information
- transmit accessibility data to external servers
Accessibility data is processed only on the user's device.
3. App Usage Insights
Ekagra analyzes device usage information to provide insights such as:
- time spent in different apps
- percentage of time spent on social media
- daily or weekly short-form video consumption
- focus session statistics
These insights help users better understand their digital habits and reduce distractions.
All analysis is performed locally on the device whenever possible.
4. App Blocking and Focus Features
Ekagra allows users to:
- block selected apps
- schedule blocking periods
- prevent interaction with distracting app sections
These features rely on detecting when certain apps or app sections are opened so that Ekagra can apply the user's configured focus rules.
Blocking behavior is controlled entirely by the user.
5. Local Data Processing
Ekagra is designed with a local-processing architecture.
Most data used by the app—including usage statistics, reels counts, and focus session data—is stored and processed only on the user's device.
Ekagra does not maintain a central server that stores user activity data.
6. Third-Party Services
Ekagra may use limited third-party services to support app functionality.
These services may include:
- crash reporting tools to improve app stability
- app distribution services provided by Google Play
- subscription or billing services if premium features are offered
These services may collect technical information necessary to operate their platforms.
Ekagra does not share user activity data with these services.
7. Data Sharing
Ekagra does not sell, rent, or trade user data.
User activity data generated by the app remains on the device and is not shared with third parties.
8. User Control
Users maintain full control over Ekagra’s permissions and features.
At any time users may:
- disable Accessibility permission
- remove app blocking configurations
- clear app data
- uninstall the application
Disabling permissions may limit certain app features.
9. Children's Privacy
Ekagra is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated occasionally to reflect improvements or changes to the application.
When changes occur, the updated policy will be published within the app or on the official website.
